STATUS IN BLOOM

What started as a passion project for Sarah Bahrou and her crew has quickly developed into a cultural staple in the Australian Car Scene. I am sure I speak for all stance and car lovers when I say that it is hard to imagine Melbourne without a yearly Status Seasonal Show.

Each year handpicked vehicles and their owners descend upon Melbourne to showcase their work at Status. Of course in between all of this is a whole load of hanging out and cruising, building the underground vibe of Status Seasonal.

The beautiful, dark, grunge aesthetic of Status was on full display. However there was far more to this years show.

Read on to find out.

Sarah Bahrou has created not just a car show in Status Seasonal, but a display of art and culture. Artists had been selected to display their works ensuring that Status in Bloom was all about the art. The atmosphere was equally immaculate as ON3 was on full display providing the music and vibes that only ON3 can.

No one parties like ON3

From the moment the doors opened and the DJ ‘s began working their magic I couldn’t help myself but dance and vibe through the whole show. So if you saw a group of people executing some amazing griddy’s, you should have joined us.

Now before I veer away onto a tangent, let me take the wheel and steer you back towards the main attraction of Status in Bloom, the cars.
This year the number of vehicles were considerably lower and you may think that’s a bad thing. Well take that thought and throw it out the window. Quality over quantity was the aim of the game this year and the execution was perfect.

Each of the vehicles on display were less “cool cars” and more works of art, each with their own story to deep dive into. Couple this with the plethora of modifications and details littered all around each of them, its safe to say, you can quite easily get lost in all of it.

IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS

IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS 〰️

During my time sifting through the details I quite quickly realised the grander atmosphere surrounding me. I took a moment to stand still and take in the environment. This was it, the moment that set this show apart to any other. The lighting and pieces of accompanying props had set the stage bathing the entirety of the scene in vivid colours, further accentuating the Status formula and taking it to heights not yet achieved by a car show. Status Seasonal and Sarah Bahrou had stamped Status as the premier car show experience.

As I took a break from the work and finally had a moment to step out and meet the people coming into the show, I couldn’t help but be taken away by the amount of people stating how great the show was. Nothing but positivity and not a single ill word was heard. So while I was sitting here typing this up I continuously begged the question, why? What was it that made this show so breath-taking. Was it the organisation, was it the art on display, the lighting, the cars, the music? Well of course, all of the items I have listed and spoken on to this point truly created an experience like no other, but what was the deciding factor?

I think I may have an answer………

The Answer

You, the People

As one who was fortunate enough to be a part of the crew working, without you all coming through and sharing and enjoying this passion there was no way that Status In Bloom would’ve been as great of a show as it was. Your energy, your passion and your love for Status filled the building. There was nothing but positivity and the environment allowed people to freely move around and enjoy the show. From the first interaction at the door all the way through to the far end, I noticed happy faces and abundant positive conversation.

This has been the best Status to date and I’ll say it now,

the coolest show in Melbourne,

if not all of Australia.

We hope you enjoyed this blog half as much as we enjoyed creating it.
